Conference Overview

We have a great 3-Day program lined up for you including a full day of Tech Tuesday’ Workshops/Tutorials and Peer2Peer Roundtables (an RFID Think Tank!) on Tuesday plus the Opening Reception on the exhibit floor.  Wednesday’s action starts with the IEEE Plenary, followed by the RFID INNOVATION Session, the kick-off of the Technical Paper Presentations, the IEEE RFID Poster Session, and the Smart Cities Mega-Challenge Competition. Thursday’s program delivers our second Keynote Session, Hot Topics in RFID and the core Technical Paper Presentations and Research that you count on from IEEE – the day is full of the leading authors and innovative solutions. And finally, you won’t want to miss IEEE’s Networking Dinner (Registration required – please sign up during registration or see IEEE RFID Welcome Desk staff).

IEEE RFID Session Locations IEEE RFID 2019 is co-located with RFID Journal LIVE! again this year. All IEEE RFID 2019 Conference Sessions will be held on the 2nd Floor, except for the Poster Session and Mega-Challenge, which will be in the Exhibit Hall on the lower level. RFID INNOVATION Keynote and Panel Discussion (Wednesday, 10:30 -12:00) Serge Leef, Microsystems Technology Officer (MTO) Program Manager, DARPA and Joshua R. Smith , Zeutschel Professor, Allen School of CSE & Dept of EE, University of Washington, will open this dynamic session with a look at Secure Supply Chain Management and will be joined by prominent RFID Panelists in what is sure to be a stimulating discussion.

IEEE RFID Technical Paper Presentations (2 Concurrent Tracks, Wednesday, 1:00-2:30, Thursday, 1:30-5:00).  IEEE RFID is a technical conference that maintains the exceptional level of technical quality our attendees expect. Every accepted paper has gone through a rigorous IEEE peer review process conducted by our outstanding Technical Program Committee and led by our TPC Chair, Rahul Bhattacharyya.

Hot Topics in RFID (Thursday, 10:15-12:00). “Hot Topics” are invited topics from distinguished researchers around the world.

IEEE RFID Smart Cities Mega Challenge Competition (Wednesday, 4:15–5:00 – Exhibit Hall, RFID LIVE Awards Theater)

The challenge finalists will compete for the IEEE RFID 2019 Smart Cities Mega-Challenge Award. These finalists have been selected from global entries made by teams from around the world.  They address problems cities are facing and identify Smart Cities solutions and the steps needed to implement their RFID based solution.
